I think the gym is a bizarre nexus of my life in Tucson. People from my past just keep showing up. While I was listening to Half Hour Wasted, this guy I met on Match.com about four years ago, whose name I don’t even remember, walks into the cardio room, takes one look at me and storms out, scowling and muttering to himself.
That was an odd reaction because we didn’t even get along that well. That’s what I get for using Match.com.
Half Hour Wasted is Brad and Frank’s podcast about comics, TV and movies. I listened to the most recent episode (#16). Brad and Frank started out with a discussion about Quiznos and Subway (I hated Subway’s V-cut bread, too. I always thought it was a vast conspiracy to skimp on sandwich fillings. Damn you, Subway!) then segued into listener comments, some favorite websites, and what to do about teenagers who won’t move away from the movie theater ticket window.
Episode 16 probably wasn’t the best episode for me to jump into (they called it a “housekeeping” episode), but Brad and Frank are likable and funny, and are obviously having fun while they’re recording, which makes Half Hour Wasted an easy listen. They sound like a couple of easy going guys who I wouldn’t mind hanging out with, maybe talking about movies over a beer.
Unlike that Match.com guy I went out with who preferred a cosmopolitan. So, I remember what he drank, but I can’t remember his name? Is that weird?
