Yes, this is horrible!!!
We should never see a woman doing laundry.
All laundry related maquettes should be of men.

I'm horrified when I see thirteen year old girls at the mall walking around like that, but contrary to my tone, I think that statue is kind of cute. It's like a pin-up from the 40s or 50s. I also don't find it demeaning that she's doing laundry. That's the kind of thing married people (or any one in a healthy relationship) do for each other.

I rather like the statue...and no, I'm not a lesbian. I think it is pretty and I wish i could pull off the high sided thong straps like MJ. haha. She must have the worst wedgie ever....those straps or so dang high. But I digress, I like the statue. I won't buy it for $125 bucks. When I open my own comic store...I will so want one though. :)

Removing him from the gene pool. Priceless... :)

But while I'm not sure how I feel about the maquette, I know that it's not insulted or offended. More sad, I think. Or disappointed. The thing is, teenage girls these days dress like this. I've seen it. Whether guys buy it or not is kind of irrelevant when girls keep doing it. It's an accurate representation of what a teenage girl - even a "wholesome one" like MJ - might wear. Whether it's a representation we like is another story, and its something that should be taken up with girls, not with the men who create these figurines...

I agree with you. The girls get it from so many directions (including what they're watching on tv and the music they're listening to) and emulate it.

In Arizona, it's so freaking hot that this sort of dress is practically a uniform for teenagers and their mothers (exposed thong season starts here around March and lasts until November).
