Lost: D.O.C.

Lost (Music from the ABC Television Series)

I thought that Sun would have enough distrust in people to follow Juliet back into the hatch. As Juliet finished the recording, it would have been nice for her to turn around into a glaring Sun instead of blurting out “I hate you!” for Ben’s benefit. He probably already knows that, Juliet.

I want to talk about death and regeneration for a minute. On the island, men have five times what’s considered a normal sperm count and everyone has a little Wolverine in them, minus the adamantium endoskeleton and the bad attitude. The Mad Russian shows up, cryptically announcing that he’s already died once this week.

Following that logic, anyone who has died on the island can be or has already been resurrected. So, where are they? Boone, Shannon, Ana Lucia, Libby, Eko? Are they just underground, alive and not consciously aware of it? Did the Others dig them up in the night and spirit them away? If we’re going to open that door, there should be some logical consequences.

I’m expecting bodies to start rising from the ground any minute now. On the island. Not in my house. I’d hate to deal with the damage to the carpet.

Now, we have this anonymous rescue parachuter, who landed equipped with a copy of Catch 22, a phone and a photo of Desmond and his girlfriend, and brings news that flight 815 was found and all of the passengers were dead. My nerdly instincts are leaning toward some gnarly, heebee geebee, parallel universe type of explanation. But, it’s probably more mundane and sneaky than that. The Others are probably behind the “discovery” of flight 815. The plane that Parachute Girl was talking about has to be a set up to conceal the real survivors and prevent a search and rescue team from accidentally discovering the island.

Orrrrr. . . there’s another group involved – not Dharma, not The Others – who set the plane crash up on the beach. Yeah, I know that Desmond forgot to enter the numbers on the ancient Mac of Doom in the hatch, turning on the giant magnet and pulling the plane down. But, come on. A guy who’s brain was electro-cooked a week ago is alive, walking around and conscious of the fact that he was dead. There are no more rules governing this sort of thing.
