APE 2007 Exhibitor Rundown – “City Lights” through “Icecreamlandia”

For some unfathomable reason, the exhibitor list for this coming weekend’s Alternative Press Expo in San Francisco doesn’t include a single link back to the exhibitor’s home page. So, as a service to you (and so we know what and who to expect when Pink Raygun makes the trek to San Francisco), all this week Pink Raygun will be re-listing each of the 304 named exhibitors. Not everyone has a homepage that we could find. We’ll let you know that. We also couldn’t always determine the correct website for a particular exhibitor. We’ll let you know that, too.

Clownhead Productions – Publishers of the Omnibus of Fun. Couldn’t locate website.”Clownhead Productions” featured Creepy Mike and his Omnibus of Fun and Greg Means of Tugboat Press and the comic “Clutch”. I don’t think Omnibus of Fun has a website, but Tugboat Press is here: http://www.tugboatpress.com/

Coffee Table Comics – Looks like Ben Katchor is associated with Coffee Table Comics, but nothing specific on this vendor otherwise.

Cold Cut Distribution – “Cold Cut Distribution is the industry’s leading reorder distributor for quality independent comics.”

Colin Whitlow Productions – Several news stories relating to the University of Virginia and Colin Whitlow, but no site for his Productions.

Comic Relief – This might be for the Robin/Whoopi/Billy comedy fundraising event, but it’s probably for the Berkeley comic book shop.

Cool Image Studio – Google search for “Cool Image Studio�? brings up the APE listing, and a wedding/glamour photography studio. Anyone have any specifics on this one?

Corinne Mucha – Comics, Illustration, Fine Art. “Corinne started drawing Hello Kitty obsessively at a young age. Later, she moved on to still lives. She attended the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), where she started drawing comics. She no longer draws Hello Kitty, but does occasionally play with crayons.�?

Couriers of Ruin – Couriers of Ruin L.L.C Illustrating, Publishing, and Recording Label based out of Las Vegas Nevada.”

Crying Macho Man – “Crying Macho Man, the weekly comic strip that has taken the internet by storm…�?

Cyclops Unlimited’s Crater on the Moon – Crater on the Moon is a sci-fi photo-comic based on the mythological adventures of the Argonauts, and the classic romance of Jason and Medea.

D. J. Bryant – Either the cartoonist or the rapper. My money is on the cartoonist, but wouldn’t it be cool if he was ALSO the rapper?

Damfino Littlebooks & Prints – No website found.

Damien Jay, Melanie Lewis – Damien Jay draws comics. Melanie Lewis might be a singer, or an actress, or someone else entirely – couldn’t determine WHICH Melanie Lewis to link to here. Anyone? Melanie Lewis’ P.S. Comics “is the work of Melanie “Minty” Lewis. Generally, the characters in the comics are either fruit or terriers (muse), but sometimes they are other things like salt or lobsters or humans. The comics deal with very important universal issues that will break your spirit and make you sweat. There are currently two issues of P.S. Comics and a few standalone minis, but keep your eyes “peeled” for more soon.”

DannyBurbol.com, FrostFyre Studios, & Sankam Productions – Danny Burbol creates the Juvenile Drivel webcomic. Paul Forest of FrostFyre is a game developer. John Scharman of Sankam makes video games for Sony.

Daryll Peirce – Daryll Peirce’s “…work represents his visual elucidation of how he perceives emotion as seen on the exterior persona, sometimes concentrating on the hidden inuendos of the human psyche.�?

Dave Crosland & Hiredmeat – Gallery artist? Can’t get past the opening image, so no specifics available.

Hot Mexican Love Comics – Not a lot of information on the site, but links to all the contributors. I talked with these guys at last year’s San Diego Comicon, and they somehow convinced me to part with my five bucks through a deft combination of humor and energy. The comic was pretty cool, too.
