We all have characters we love, but who represents your inner Ray Gunner? Are you a villainess, a heroine, or a sage? Being bitter and sarcastic and possessing a black little soul, I fully expected my results to align with that and give me the extra push I need to take over the world. Or, at the very least, my neighborhood. Very unscientifically, I submitted myself to a battery of personality tests designed to reveal such self-help mysteries as which superpower is compatible with my personality and which sci-fi crew should get my resume.
I was surprised, and a little horrified, by some of the results, which indicates that either I’m not the person I think I am, or these tests aren’t quite accurate.
My first test was Which Fantasy / Sci-Fi Character are You? I took this one twice and got two different results, confirming my suspicions that there’s more than one person living inside of me. My first attempt revealed my inner Yoda, “a venerated sage with vast power and knowledge, you gently guide forces around you while serving as a champion of the light.? The second revealed my inner Elrond, “a stern yet benevolent organizer who often knows best, your wits are keenly fixed on aiding efforts you deem worthy.?
Looking at the stats, most people identified with Galadriel and Aragorn of Lord of the Rings, while the fewest identified with The Shadows from Babylon 5. So, my inner characters are a couple of good guys. At least it wasn’t Obi-Wan Kenobi, who carries himself as a force of good, then leaves a guy dismembered and burning on the bank of a volcanic river. Jerk.
My ideal superpowers are of the Spidey variety. Quick reflexes, super strength, spidey sense, and walking on walls would be hard to integrate into everyday life, but would still be awesome. I headed over to quizilla.com’s “What Power is Compatible With You?” to find out just what superpower would be compatible with my personality. The questions and answers are full of goth pain, and not particularly well written, but I can easily picture the loner girl who concocted this while listening to Evanescence. Based on my answers to questions about my eyes, my view of the world and my perspective on what others think of me, my power was revealed to be mind control. That’s kind of cool. However, mind control is compatible with my personality because my answers indicate that I’m bossy, jealous and insecure, which is actually pretty accurate.
Being a Yoda-Elrond splice with the ability to control minds, it’s hard to find a crew to work with. The next quiz “Your Ultimate Sci-Fi Profile II: Which Sci-Fi Crew Would You Best Fit In?” helped with that confusion. I would best fit in with the crew of Deep Space Nine, hopefully later in the series because the first couple of seasons aren’t something I’d want to deal with.
So, deep down inside, I’m a mind controlling Yoda-Elrond mash-up on Deep Space Nine. That’s disappointing. I was looking forward to confirming my all consuming evil.
